Certified CCNA or CCNP required
BS in IT or MIS (preferred)
Minimum of 8
years of experience in IT.
Experience with VMware 4.x & 5.x (3-4 years at least)
Extensive experience withCisco,EMC, Dell and HP Hardware.
Knowledgeable with Windows Server 2003-2008.
Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support
Cisco Unified Communication Manager configuration and infrastructure a plus.
Technical, analytical and interpersonal skills required.
Strong project management, organizational, customer service and communication skills required.
Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPN, Firewalls and Anti-Virus
Experience with EMC products, VNX 5300 series storage and Avamar backup & restore a plus.
Specific duties:
Design, setup and configure complex switching environments as well as wireless networking that support open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications.
Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking.
Providing third level technical support for network, including root cause analysis and permanent resolution, planning and implementing maintenance, modifications and enhancements to the network.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.)
Configure setup, monitor and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances for access to vital business applications.
Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc.
Configuring and installing client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
Procedures development and implementation on comprehensive hardware and software solutions necessary to support the monitoring of the various network environments.
Make recommendations for changes to the environment to maintain adequate capacity, performance and supportability.
